Fourth Annual Zombie Cause Swim & Zombie Costume Contest

Doc Lucky presents the 4th Annual Zombie Cause® Swim — Orlando’s most thrilling night swim is back, and this year it’s bigger, darker, and deadlier than ever.

Dare to swim one kilometer through a zombie-infested lake in the dark at Lucky’s Lake Swim, 6645 Lake Cane Drive, Orlando, FL 32819 on Saturday, September 26, 2026.

How It Works

This event is for seasoned open water swimmers ready to test their skills against the undead. Each swimmer wears a swim buoy with a light and a trailing cord. If a zombie pulls your cord — your light goes on and you are zombified. Now you must chase and zombify other swimmers.

The swim begins with one zombie prime released 75 yards from shore. Swimmers have one hour to make it across the lake and back, picking up a clip on the far shore to prove they crossed.

Will you survive — or join the undead?

Every Swimmer Receives

  • A survivor or zombified finisher medallion — based on your fate in the water
  • An exclusive Zombie Cause patch
  • A Zombie Cause bumper sticker

—

Zombie Costume Contest

Dress to impress — or terrify. Before the swim there will be a Zombie Costume Contest open to all ticket holders, with awards for:

  • 🧟 Best Zombie
  • 🤪 Most Bizarre Zombie
  • 💀 Sexiest Zombie

Both swimmers and volunteers are eligible to compete.

After the Swim

Survive the zombies and reward yourself with s’mores around the fire. Whether you’re a survivor or freshly zombified, you’ve earned it.

The Cause

Every dollar from ticket sales goes directly to the Step Into Swim charity, which matches funds and donates to the Rosen Aquatic Center for swim lessons for children and families who can’t afford them. Last year’s event raised $3000 for the program.
