The Labor Day swim is on Monday at 7:45 am for all the groovy people. Everyone else will start at 7:46 am.

Lucky, building the dock and Swim Shack back in 1923. Lucky was great at hewing and other manly skills.

We are asking for help replacing the lights’ batteries for the swimmer tow buoys. If you are certified in AAA battery replacement or have passed 3rd grade, you may qualify for this exciting, fulfilling volunteer opportunity. More great news! We no longer require our current ten-page volunteer application form for new volunteers, nor will we do the background check and cavity search. Ask Mi or Lucky if you might be interested in this singular opportunity to leave your mark on the world.

Twelve people signed up for the zombie swim on Saturday, September 21st, at 7:30 pm. We know many of you are scared to swim, so NO PATCH FOR YOU! However, some of you are procrastinators, so get signed up now. Don’t forget there is a zombie costume contest with prizes. Starting tomorrow, Jay will be force-feeding sardines to anybody who has not signed up (no, I”‘m not kidding; late at night, when your mouth opens for the first snore of the evening, that is when Jay will strike. Trust me, the zombie swim is far less scary than seeing a dark shadow hovering over your bed with a wiggling sardine gripped in its hand, did I forget to mention the sardines are live ). Click here to see the Zombie Swim promo video (no sardines were harmed in this video).

We are thrilled to share that Lucky’s Lake Swim is now listed in the book ‘111 Places in Orlando that You Must Not Miss’. This achievement is a testament to the support and dedication of our community. We are grateful for your continued participation and look forward to seeing even more paparazzi on the dock than usual.

The swim for Inclusion for Special Olympics is also on September 21st at 9 am.  Far less scary than the Zombie Swim. Why would Lucky schedule two charity events on the same day? Rumor has it that his parents often dropped him on his head when he was little. They stopped when he turned 21, but apparently, the damage had been done.
