Yes it is scary, but that’s the point. This is a no wimps swim and full bragging rights will come with completion. Excuses will not suffice, either you swim, or all of your progeny will carry the burden for generations to come.
Please prevent this future conversation from happening. “Great-Grandpa why didn’t you do the zombie swim when you could have? Well, great-grandson I am a card carrying wimp. Does that mean I’m a wimp and all future generations of our genetic pool will be wimps too? Yes, yes is does.”
