Congratulations to Mary Hayes (age 85) that just set a new record for the 85-89 women’s age group. She was joined by her son Dan and granddaughter Marlie making three generations swimming at one time. It has happened before but not often, much like 3 eyed fish in Lake Chernobyl.
August 17th Orange County TV will be out filming some of the neat stuff that swimmers are doing with the Lake Cane Restoration Society. No thongs that morning, that goes for you too Ron.

September 22 Blood Mobile will be returning. Tom will be there waving around his 9800 gallon donor card like it’s a platinum VISA and if you don’t donate he will give you “the look” which will make you feel like an invertebrate that needs to ooze it’s way back into a dark crevice. Oct 14th Rowdy Masters Classic Open Water Swim at Lucky’s Lake Swim. First Annual. This is a race with awards. You don’t have to register for the meet to compete in the swim, but you will have to register and pay an entry fee. All proceeds from this event goes to the scholarship fund at they YMCA Aquatic Center. Registration details will be available in our next post . . . maybe.

Congratulations to a Lucky’s Lake Swimming regular, Luis Ortiz who just earned a spot on the USA triathlon world team for the Junior (19u) division. He will be one of three Americans competing for the US at Worlds in this division. Not only that but he is skinny too. Some people have all the luck.

Jay did it! And they even hired a couple of Japanese fishermen to shoot at them when they were swimming. I don’t even think they got a patch or bumper sticker for doing the swim.
