We have been notified by the county that Lake Cane Dr. (the road in front of the lake swim) is going to be paved next week starting June 7th.  This may not affect us at all, but they don’t want anyone parking on the street next week.  Make sure you park in the front yard.  Also make sure if you park in the front yard they don’t start paving in front of the driveway before you get out or you will be stuck for two hours. Forewarned.

Although Lucky absolutely hates rules and regulations another has been added:  ALL SWIMMERS MUST SWIM WITH FLOATATION DEVICES FOR THEIR FIRST 25 CROSSINGS. You may use pull buoys, full wet suits or Safe Swimmer Buoys.  The Lake Cane Restoration Society has purchased many, many buoys for loan. Once you have received your white 25K cap you are good to go without floatation, but we still encourage it. There is no grandfathering in on this rule if you have not reached the magic 25 number then please start with the floatation again.  The only two exceptions would be folks that are trying to break an age group record, and this must be prearranged with Larry or a one million dollar cash deposit (no ones or fives).

It has come to our attention that some individuals are arriving early, going for a run, and then returning after the lake swim has started to swim. When we say you must arrive by the start that means you need to be physically present at the lake side for the announcements before the swim.  Larry will be enforcing the too late to swim sign so be forewarned (Larry has many punishments planned for violators, mostly taken from “The Game of Thrones” series, so take this warning seriously)

Another great event at the Jack Beattie memorial swim.  We had over twenty folks doing the dynamic duo (both Lucky’s Lake Swim and Jack’s swim on the same day). As promised your photo is below.

UCF is recruiting extremely good looking people for a study “Examining the Impact of Daily Activities on Proprioceptive and Kinematic Efficiency” Sorry, Lucky, Ron and Dave have been excluded from the study (Lucky is too good looking  and the others well . . .) If you are interested in helping out contact TalResearchLab@gmail.com   with the message title “I would like to be a “Guinea pig”  (No, seriously don’t add that as the message title, this always happens when we let Lucky post anything ed.).

No large gauge needles will be used in this study. Sign up before all your friends do.

Remember the song "Signs" by Tesla. Okay then, read the sign and if you don't like it write a song.

Drew Noland went missing at Jack Beattie's Memorial swim. We all went out looking for his body. Turns out he was following Lucky (and wrongfully assumed after a quarter of a century doing Jack's swim he would certainly know the course . . . wrong)

Turns out he was following Lucky (and wrongfully assumed after a quarter of a century doing Jack’s swim Lucky would certainly know the course . . . wrong) Lucky corrected his course after a few hundred yards past the turn buoy, but Drew kept on swimming and had to hitch a ride home.

I know this looks like a photo from the most beautiful edition of People magazine, but it is only the folks that did the the "dynamic duo" Lucky's Lake Swim and the Beattie swim on the same day.
