Water temp is 72 degrees and warming. Spring swimming season has definitely started. Lucky has returned to the lake giving up his climate controlled Swimex workouts for the much more spiritual open water. It’s like seeing the bubble boy coming out of his bubble. Speaking of coming out, even Dave Heffernan has ditched his black sausage suit (not without a bunch of whining though).
Congratulations to Garfield Thomas (our current record holder for 70-74) who traveled all the way from the UK to set the 75-79 record previously held by 1000K club member George Mann. Garfield did a blistering 20:02 breaking the old record by a minute and becoming the second person to hold a lake swim record in two different age groups at the same time (The other being Eric Christensen who holds the record for 35-39 and 40-45).
Easter swim is fast approaching make sure you mark our EAT-PRAY-SWIM (not necessarily in that order) event on your calendars and bring friends. Festivities start on Easter at Sunrise. Bring your own folding chairs/ blankets to sit on.

Garfield Thomas sets the 75-79 record with a time of 20:02 at the same time proving he is one of the smartest open water swimmers in the UK as the water temp is 42 today in the Serpentine and he wisely chose to swim with us.

Why am I taking a crappy photo of an excellent flyer to post. Well I put the flyer in the scrapbook and when I tried to scan it wouldn’t come out. So deal with it.

Many are wondering what that big white plastic pad is being used for in Lucky’s backyard. Well, it is a moonbeam collector. Very high tech instrumentation. Not only does it collect moonbeams but it condenses and particulates them into an edible MOBE which looks and tastes just like marshmallows, only these can potentially grow hair, cause weight loss and improve libido. Lucky has a few of these MOBE left for sale, as well as a couple of bridges in the Brooklyn area, for those that are interested.
I wondered about the “Eat, Pray, Swim” thing, as I was dreading the indigestion.
