Water temp was 68 degrees today which means that this is the start of spring open water swimming. Its time to start working off the winter fat. We had 30+ swimmers on Saturday.   Grisha Tarasevich a member of the Russian National Team (2nd and 3rd place finisher in the Arena Grand Prix hosted at the YMCA Aquatic Center) did a swim with Lucky today, crossing the lake in 15:15 doing backstroke. Also coming back for a repeat swim was True Sweetser (who holds the fastest crossing record for Lucky’s Lake swim) True swam in the Grand Prix finishing third in the mile just being touched out by Connor Jaeger the current American Record holder in the event. Although Lucky got to rub elbows with several Olympic gold medalists this weekend no takers on the lake swim (They did have other things on their minds).

True Sweeter (Lake Cane record holder 11:35.5) Grisha Tarasevich 15:15 crossing backstroke, John Meisenheimer VII (would rather sit in the hot tub than swim in 68 degree water - must be genetic)

True Sweeter pulled a Lucky. Swam one crossing then left and got in the Swimex. He then set the Swimex record swimming 2:39.6 against the full current.
