We will be swimming on Memorial Day. The swim time is 7:45AM. This is a chance for everyone to sleep in. For those that might be interested in trying out underwater hockey we will be having a practice in Lucky’s pool after the lake swim at 9:30am. We have loaner equipment so come try it out. You know you want to.
Jack Beattie’s 26 annual lake swim/race is just around the corner on Saturday JUNE 6th. There is plenty of time to do Lucky’s Lake Swim and then drive to Jack’s for his swim/race. We had over 15 folks do the dynamic duo of both swims on the same day last year. There will be a pancake breakfast following the swim (at Jack’s not Lucky’s).You can see the documentary of Jack’s lake swim done by Growing Bolder Click Here. Race starts at 10:30 am. This swim is one mile and is not for novices. 561 Via Lugano, Winter Park Phone 407-628-3226
Congrats to Mark Weeks who scored his 200K club shirt this week.
We have two stories out there in media land on the History Society Proclamation Day Swim. Both stories are excellent. You can hear the local NPR Story on WMFE by clicking HERE. You can hear the Orlandia Podcast episode 8 by Clicking HERE. If you missed the swim this is a great way to catch up on what you missed.
Special Olympics swim season starts in two weeks. If you are interested in being a volunteer coach please let Lucky know. We practice on Tuesday evenings at 7pm at the YMCA Aquatic center. Will will start with the first practice on Tuesday June 2nd. You don’t have to make every practice to be a volunteer coach.
Our lake swim record board is now up to date. You can check out the current records here Lucky’s Lake Swim Records.

A scene from the other side of the lake during the History Society swim. 474 swimmers including one duck and one dog. Check out the links above for stories on the swim.

Our swim will be at 7:45am on Memorial Day. We have no band that day, but Ron has promised to do his famous belly dancing routine on the dock before the swim. Please come join us anyway.

We had a boatload of Lucky’s Lake Swimmers attend Jack Beattie’s swim last year. Become one of the cool ones this year and do both swims the same day.

Lucky has a very fine Kayak for sale (it’s a classic and very likely collectible). Any donation to the Lake Cane Restoration society can make it yours overnight. If you don’t have enough funds to buy a Lamborghini then you should instead buy this fine kayak.

Lucky is in his 22nd year of Coaching Special Olympics at the YMCA Aquatic center. He would like to remind everyone that is interested in coaching that they double the coaching salary each year without fail to keep everyone motivated. If you are interested in helping coach Special Olympics swimming let Lucky know.
That shirt is the perfect size… making me look “SLIM” as I hold it up… Ron and George were hoping for same effect!!
Congrats Mark
