May 9th is a red letter day for Lucky’s Lake Swim. The Orange County Historical Society will be proclaiming Lucky’s Lake Swim a Historical Event! Spread the Word. So if you have ever done the lake swim, or have it on your bucket list of things to do, Saturday May 9th is the day to show up 7:45AM. We will be having a free pancake breakfast (many thanks to all the 100K club members for stepping up and making this possible) and we will be trying to break the record for the most swimmers, which now stands at 242, so bring a friend. Carpool if you can because parking will be tight. Olympic Gold Medalist and NBC sportscaster Rowdy Gaines will be here and so should you. We will have the grand opening of the swim shack (no, we don’t have anything for sale it’s just a shack and no Dave we are not applying for a liquor license, I know this is very upsetting to you, but that’s just the way it is). We will have a commemorative sticker for everyone that does the swim that day (Woo Hoo, I would definitely swim with alligators to get that sticker). Plus, we will have on display, poster collages of a quarter of a century of swimming at Lucky’s Lake Swim. Some of us look very young in those photos and others like George Mann look exactly the same (I’m not sure whether this is good or bad). Should be a lot of fun.
It’s still not too late to order Lucky’s Lake Swim swimsuits. (I know you all want one). Contact Bart Raub (one of the original Lucky’s Lake swimmers) at Total Team Wares before time runs out 407-644-1333 (we have orders for 35+ suits so far). I guarantee any race you participate in your opponents will quake with fear when you walk up to the start wearing a Lucky’s Lake Swim swimsuit (Wait . . .wait . . . sorry I was looking at the Lucky’s Lake swim thong, Ron is the only one to have ordered that item, the thong is what makes people quake with fear, not the regular suits, sorry about that confusion).
We had a bunch of records fall last Saturday and we had 197 swimmers do the swim. You can check out our record board HERE. Many thanks to FloridaSwimnetwork.com for posting the new records and promoting the May 9th swim.

I plan on doing the May 9th swim and am a first time swimmer. I will be riding my bike as to save on parking and would like to know if I need to bring my own pull buoy. Thank you, Darren
This swim is on my bucket list. How do I get in the one for May 9th? Do I just show up with a signed waiver and my googles and swim suit?
