Bragging rights day today as the water temperature broke the 60 degree barrier down to 59 for the first (and probably only) time this year. We had nearly thirty swimmers join us for the swim and several without wetsuits. Several folks made their qualifying swim for the English Channel relay and Volker set a world record for the longest to shiver in a 104 degree hot tub .

Water temp 59 degrees and all the real men (those without wetsuits) got to punch their man cards. We welcomed several triathletes from Indiana today. Turns out the water is hard where they usually swim, and much softer here in Orlando. Of special note, Simba did punch his man card, and also proved that lake swimmers can prone to peer pressure.

Bruce (center) makes his two hour qualifying swim for the English channel relay along with Glenn and Patrick as escorts. Patrick is trying to hide the fact that he is wearing a wetsuit, but we’re not buying it.

Volker does a ballroom dance with Hugh after Volker completed his two hour swim. Hugh did not want to, but Volker insisted that his name was Rita and Hugh owed him a dance. Kevin looks on, upset that Volker did not ask him for the first dance. Volker once his body temperature reached 95 in the hot tub denied having any memory of the dance

Holy Duck Batman!. Is this someones idea of a bad hoax or is Duck really Miss Duck. (Please note the white oval object in the right lower hand corner). Does this mean that all of our big strong hot tub sitters are being beat up by a girl duck. I thought girls only bullied by texting, guess that’s not true.
Yes, I did succumb to peer pressure and opted out of my triathlon onesie for the more manly (and less clothie) traditional swim shorts. I did get my man card punched. It was a great swim as I got to see the sun rising as I crossed the lake. Orlando’s best kept secret, just keeps getting better. We love you Lucky!!
I think I could say something about brain cells and the lack of women in photos but I won’t go there.
