Big milestones reached at the lake swim the last couple of weeks! Dave Heffernan (see the video) was the point man for all the SWAG being passed out by becoming the 12th member of the 1000K club! See more below. Otherwise, the lake swim keeps plugging along. No special events coming up, yet, but Rollins college swim team is expected to join us on Oct 4th, so plan for some fast swimmers that day. It is not too late to sign up for the Rowdy Gaines Masters Classic meet, which will be held at the YMCA Aquatic Center on October 10-12. Lucky will be hosting a dessert social for participants at his home Saturday after the meet along with a free stroke clinic lead by Olympic Gold Medalist Rowdy Gaines. Dave Heffernan makes the 1000K club !!! Click here to see the VIDEO. This will bring more tears to your eyes than watching “The Notebook”

Steve Willis scores his 200K shirt. Now wait just one minute wasn’t Gene also in the photo right before this? Shouldn’t Ron (The king of 200K shirts) be photo bombing this shot instead of Gene?
- Jim Sullivan makes the 100 K club with his trusty balloon. Jim has run marathons and ultra-marathons in every state at least a couple of times. He’s run across the state of Florida and arranged his own ultramarathons in states that had never heard of them. Thank God there is a 1000K club to keep him motivated

It only took 8 years of trying, but now Trent Smith is a member of the 100K club. I expect you will be looking forward to the yellow cap sometime around 2018?
Amazing. Still working for my 25 crossing! Any chance of being able to attend the stroke clinic without swimming in the meet? I know, I think I know the answer there. Don’t mind paying, just don’t particularly feel competitive!
I think that is one of the perks to being registered in the meet. You could always register for one event I guess, and then you would be good. You don’t have to swim the race.
