The carp naming has been completed! I am happy to report that all 500 carp are now happily swimming around Lake Cane munching down on the evil hydrilla. It turns out that there are several Lucky’s Lake swimmers that paid money but didn’t name their carp. This is America and that is perfectly legal. You will not suffer any consequences, other than a small audit by the IRS. Many thanks to everyone that named a carp, or didn’t, and gave money anyway. Right now some of you are reading this and saying, Holy Carp!, I donated money, but didn’t name my carp, and I don’t want to be audited by the IRS, what should I do? Just let us know what your carp names are, and I will add them to the list (It was $10 per name). What if you are now looking at the carp name list, and saying, “OMG my entire strategy was to wait and name the last two carp Dilbert 1 & 2 in honor of my boss”. Then I was going to quit my job and move to Nicaragua to spend the rest of my life working as a surfing instructor. Good news, you can still donate money and it will go to the Lake Cane Restoration society ( we are working on trying to get aerators in the lake) and we will name pseudocarp in your employer’s honor – catch a wave for us.
Many Thanks to all that donated! You are good people. CARP NAME LIST HERE

Nice turn out this Saturday. Lots of folks from out of town . . . we tell them about the Lake Cane Monster after the swim.

With all the safer swimmer buoys the swim has turned into a cornucopia of color. (Someone bet me $5 I couldn’t work the word “cornucopia into the blog – BAM!- oh yeah!)

For those of you that have been wanting to try out underwater hockey, but haven’t because you don’t understand the rules. Here is a short video on UWH fouls that Lucky filmed. CLICK HERE TO SEE THE FOUL VIDEO and here is a video on how to do an underwater hockey flick. FLICK VIDEO
I love your blog! Required reading if you like to laugh and feel good about good people in the world.
Yesterday was so crowded that people had to back out of the driveway in search of parking elsewhere.
I never named my carp! If anyone has a name they are dying to use…go for it!!! My carp name is all yours, but I do think I saw my carp on Saturday and he/she is pretty big from all the hydrilla!
