Holiday Swim Schedule
Thursday July 3rd 6:30 AM regular swim, 10pm (movie – Sharknado) bring your own beverage and any treats you want to share. We will supply some old stale popcorn, which is very apropos considering the movie we are showing. Midnight (midnight swim) You must watch the movie and do the swim to get the patch. We have special lighted safer swimmer buoys for the midnight swim – very cool. Check out this midnight swim video done by Growing Bolder. Friday July 4th 7:45 AM swim, 4th of July party 5pm until fireworks – party at Lucky’s and Jacquie’s. Bring something to throw on the grill and something to share. World Water volley ball championships will be held coin toss for the kids.
Saturday July 5th 7:45 lake swim, Special Olympics swim team pool party 9-11am.
381 carp have been named. We only have 118 more to go. We now have a challenge for the carp naming. If we can get the next 109 named by JULY 4th Mary Holloway will name the last 10. Mary has some great names planned so lets make sure she has to use them! Name your carp HERE
Sharknado will be the movie screened before the midnight swim. It is already a cult classic. Come at 10pm to see why. You must watch the movie for the midnight swim to be official.
This is an angry carp. He just learned he did not get named. Please name this carp quick. We don’t want to release a bunch of angry carp into the the lake. We need only 109 more names.
Congratulations to Gregg Dedic. Gregg is the first Special Olympian to get into the 500K club. He has been silver capped. You see very few of those silver caps out on the lake.
We have lighted safer swimmer buoys for the new dark swimmers joining us for the midnight swim on Thursday, July 3rd. Movie starts at 10pm.
- We are still playing Underwater Hockey every Wed & Friday at 7:15 pm at the YMCA Aquatic Center. Several of our players are lake swimmers. We welcome Tom Welch back underwater after a long absence. Three goals way to go Tom!
Some fire fighters are doing a fundraiser against cancer on July 12th. This will be a swim within our lake swim. Please do not be confused with the donation amount in the below flyer, there is never a charge to swim Lucky’s Lake Swim even on that date, of course, you can choose to donate if you wish, they will have a table set up, but what they are doing is recruiting local fire fighters to do the swim and make donations. The swim will start at our normal time on July 12th at 7:45am.
