We had a great week with 17 new carp being named with now 377 being named.  We only have 123 more to go.  We now have a challenge for the carp naming. If we can get the next 113 named by JULY 4th Mary Holloway will name the last 10.  Mary has some great names planned so lets make sure she has to use them!  Name your carp HERE

An underwater crap not to be confused with an underwater carp. We are not naming underwater craps . . . which may have been holding a few of you back from naming rights and we apologize to those that thought they were naming craps.  Sorry you can’t get your money back even though you may think that’s a bucket full of carp. Name your carp here.

Gregg Dedic will become our first Special Olympian to make it into the 500K club on Thursday. If you are swimming on Thursday make sure you give Gregg a big high five.

Where was Lucky the last ten days? Well when he wasn’t taking photos of fish defecating in the water he was swimming on the reef (seen here with Jacquie). Fortunately his youngest son, Max, is a good photographer and was able to take this shot.

Where was Lucky the last ten days? Well when he wasn’t taking photos of fish defecating in the water he was swimming on the reef off of  Grand Cayman (seen here with Jacquie). Fortunately his youngest son, Max, is a good photographer and was able to take this shot. Lucky’s son John VII finished 8th overall in the Flowers one mile swim (about 900 swimmers) and 7th overall in the 5K swim.

It’s looking more and more like the movie is going to be Sharknado for the midnight swim on July 3rd. Check out this midnight swim piece done by Growing Bolder.  Please feel free to comment on the blog or Facebook. We are going to have some Safer Swimmer buoys with lights for first time dark swimmers.  If you don’t know what a safer swimmer buoy is then check out this video.

Some fire fighters are doing a fundraiser against cancer on July 12th.  This will be a swim within our lake swim.  Please do not be confused with the donation amount in the below flyer, there is never a charge to swim Lucky’s Lake Swim even on that date, of course, you can choose to donate if you wish, they will have a table set up, but what they are doing is recruiting local fire fighters to do the swim and make donations.  The swim will start at our normal time on July 12th at 7:45am.
