Unless you’ve been living under a rock you have probably heard we are holding our 4th annual Easter Sunrise service/lake swim/ pancake breakfast tomorrow at 6:55 AM. Yes, you read that correctly 6:55AM (that’s why we call it a sunrise service). This year all the offerings are going to DP high school senior Ian Suppra’s medical fund. Ian, a star swimmer, water polo player and lake swimmer, was stricken with stage four esophageal cancer and faces huge medical expenses. In between hospitalization and rounds of chemotherapy Ian comes back and still plays water polo for DP, he is the definition of inspiration. So come on out, support Ian, listen to a great sermon by Tom Welch (I have heard his sermons and I have heard the Pope, I like Tom’s better, but then the Pope was speaking Latin, I’m sure the Pope’s was good too, but he won’t be at the lake swim.) and enjoy a phenomenal pancake breakfast. You don’t have to swim the lake to take part, so please bring family and friends.
If you are bringing family and friends please try to carpool as parking will be tight. Thanks to wonderful neighbors we will have several front yards to park in and we will have parking volunteers out in force directing traffic. Also bring a chair and blanket to sit on; we don’t have that many chairs. For first time swimmers please go to our web site and read the rules, one kilometer is still a long way even on Easter Sunday.
A special thanks to all the volunteers, we couldn’t pull this off with out you.
Channel 2 WESH may be out filming, so no skinny dip swims this Easter, sorry Ron I know that bums you out.
Guys if you are going to Facebook or share any post this year please do it for this one.

Lucky and John VII Meisenheimer with Ian Supra at the 2012 Easter sunrise swim. Not only is Ian a lake swimmer but his father is as well. To help the Supra’s in this most difficult time please click here.

I usually don’t promote runs (as I don’t understand the concept), but I do this one as it has provided 10s of thousands of dollars for the YMCA Aquatic Centers scholarship fund. So someone please go out and run for Lucky as there is no way in H-ll that he can make 5K. Many thanks for your support I drive 5K Run.

A pet peeve of mine for the last 30 years is that the YMCA Aquatic Center has not had their pool records displayed. Well now they have a very nice record board and it reads like a who’s who of American swimming. Michael Phelps, Matt Biondi, Janet Evans, Missy Franklin, Mary T Meagher their all up on the board. Check it out the next time you visit the Y.
Thanks to the many swimmers who helped out Lucky with the filming of the Zombie Survival Store Commercial. We have several photos below of lake swimmers as zombies and as cast members of the Zombie Cause. I have had several folks disappointed that they couldn’t be zombies, but no worries we are filming a short pilot for a zombie show this summer, so if you are interested in being a zombie there will be more opportunities. Sign up for email updates to our Zombie Cause Blog to keep informed. Many thanks to our zombies which were dispatched in the usual fashion.
See if you recognize some of our lake swimmers below.

Silent Blade says that being in a zombie horde is just like playing the 2 meter man in water polo and he loves it.

Zombie boy knows better than this, you have to head shot a zombie to to any good. I think he learned his lesson and he has the bite marks to prove it.
Great pictures! I thought I would be able to save them on my I-pad but it’s not letting me 🙁
Yay!!! I opened it up in my e-mail and could save the pictures!
Great! Someday those pictures will be historical pieces of art, then again probably not.
Congrats again to Lucky for another amazing Easter swim…wish I could have been there! Next year!
