Well it’s officially pre-Spring, because before the swallows return to Capistrano and the first tulip blooms, a horde of rubber suits invade Lake Cane. We had over 70 neoprene clad water warriors facing the 67 degree water this AM. The water temp is projected to be above 70 degrees next weekend so we will expect even more then. Perhaps even Lucky will stop being such a girly-man and swim too, the broken ribs excuse is wearing a bit thin.
Hot tub or Cold tub you decide. Great news the hot tub is fixed. Sorry to all of you that cancelled your memberships on Saturday when it was broken. We have decided to let you rejoin without any extra charge, although the monthly fee will double and you will have to swim with Duck.
Gene celebrated his 82nd birthday this week with a lake swim, and a bit of cake. Seen in photo Gene, Gene’s friends and Ron. Gene you don’t look a day over 90. 🙂
We have installed a ring toss game on the dock for all you folks that come and decide it’s too cold to swim. The rules are simple; swing the ring so it catches on the hook then go sit in the hot tub.
The name your piranha donation program has, surprisingly, not shown any support amongst our lake swimmers. Some blame this video while others point out that pound for pound Dave eats 100x more Hydrilla than a piranha. Since Dave already has a name we have gone back to the name your carp program. We need about 230 more carp. This will take you to the name your carp link and WE NOW HAVE A PAYPAL DONATION BUTTON at the link. For only $10 you can name a carp. Name a whole family, but don’t name them Darryl that name has been taken. Make sure you add your name and the carps names to the paypal response box.
- Lucky shows his skill as a barber (it’s nice to have a backup plan if that dermatology thing doesn’t work out). John VII shaved his head in support of Ian Supra, along with several other DP swimmers and water polo players. Ian did great with his first round of chemotherapy. He recovered enough to play water polo against Oviedo last Friday and he scored two goals. Strong work Ian! For more on Ian Click here. This year our Easter Sunday lake swim and service offering will be going to Ian’s Medical fund.
