The Grand Prix series race is this weekend and the YMCA Aquatic Center. A great opportunity to see many Olympic medal winning swimmers in action, and if you want to see them really close you can do that too because they still need volunteer timers for the Thursday and Friday morning sessions. So come, swim the lake, then go volunteer at the YMCA. All you need to do is come to the back entrance by 8 am to time and you will have front row seats. Just ask for Apryle. With the new video scoreboard the YMCA Aquatic Center never looked better. It should be an exciting meet.
Thanks to everyone that has contributed to Ian Supra’s, a DP high school swimming star, medical fund. Ian is a lake swimmer and is fighting esophageal cancer (he started chemo this week). Over $55,000 has been raised so far. Keep Ian and his family in your prayers. If you would like to contribute or read Ian’s story please do by clicking here.

Hannah (our lake swim starter dog) turned 11 last week (this is about 100 years old in big dog years) She has agreed to sign on for one more year of lake starts. She celebrated by eating a dog biscuit and smoking a cigar.

WESH Channel 2 did a nice pre-Olympics segment the local underwater hockey club. Lucky and Rowdy were both prominent in the video. Rowdy says he could see it as a future Olympic sport. Isn’t it time for you to try out underwater hockey?
