Sorry folks for this repost I am migrating sites and have to do this in order to keep the blog data intact.  This should only happen once.
As a bonus here is my video on how to do an underwater hockey flick.

Twenty four brave souls swam into the new year today challenging cool water (67 degrees) and some wind. They were all rewarded with the opportunity to have a bit of the bubbly at the end of their swim. As we start the new year (This is Lucky’s Lake Swim silver anniversary  year – 25 yrs) nothing much has changed.  We are back to our regular swim times of 6:30am on week days and 7:45 am on Saturdays. The water has been (and hopefully will remain) unseasonably warm and still about 25% of the swimmers are without wetsuits. So no excuses for not swimming.

Of an interesting note we had 16000 views of the blog last year and Audrey made the most comments with five.

Two dozen hard-core swimmers (or very silly people – you decide) swam into the new year.

New Years Day 6 years ago 2007. We had twice as many folks today. Lucky, Geno and Mark looks like are the only three that were at both. Please note the champagne (on Lucky’s back) is the same too!

We had a little champagne following the swim. Some wisely chose not to partake. This was the last remaining bottle from Jacquie’s and Lucky’s wedding reception 19 years ago. Turns out champagne doesn’t age well and it wasn’t very good 19 years ago. You can ask George Mann about this as he was the only one at the reception and swimming today that could compare. I believe I overheard him say “after the 6th glass it doesn’t taste as bad.”

Charlie St-Cry Paul makes the 500K club. The last 25 meters of his swim was so fast the frictional pressure ripped his wetsuit off his upper torso. Strong work Charile
