We will be swimming on T-Day!

Yes, it’s hard to believe but the Thanksgiving holiday is rapidly approaching, so here are the holiday swim times for the lake swim. Please commit these times and dates to memory. There will be a pop quiz later this week.

Wednesday Nov 27………………..…7:45 AM
Thanksgiving Day Nov 28th …7:45 AM (If you swim this morning you can have seconds without regret later that day.)
Friday Nov 28th………………………  7:45 AM
Saturday Nov 29th ……………………7:45 AM

Bragging rights: Okay a proud dad has to brag about his sons every once in a while. John VII (our lake swim record holder and a senior at Dr. Phillips H.S.) finished 3rd in the 200 IM (1:57.6) 5th in the 100 fly (52.8) and split (47.9) on the 4X100 free relay at the 4A high school regional swimming championships (he was unshaved).  Jake (our dark swim lake record holder and a freshman at Dr. Phillips H.S.) finished 3rd in the 500 free (4:59.8) and 9th in the 200 free (1:52.7) he was shaved. We are looking forward to even faster swims from them next weekend at the High School State swimming Championships.

New lake swim record breakers. Alisa Novashinski set the 35-39 women’s record in 15:09 and Brett Jones set the men’s 25-29 record with a 14:31.

Ron Beaudettei became our first Canadian to make it into the 100K club. It’s a long drive from his house in Canada to the lake but he does it every morning without complaints which makes this milestone event more impressive.

Carp

The Name your Carp Campaign is well under way.  We have already named a couple of hundred carp so don’t miss this opportunity of a lifetime. SEE CARP NAMES HERE (this list is old so I still have well over 100 names to add).  To name your carp write your name on a 3×5 card and the carp’s name or names (you can name as many as you like for $10 each, but you are out of luck if you want to name your carp Darryl as Todd Pace has named all 100 of his carp Darryl).  Put the card with a check made out to Lake Cane Restoration Society or cash in the coffee payment bowl next to the wall of fame.  Art work above is courtesy of Alixa Villalobos (The Carp in the painting are named Lucas and Thomas)
