Saturday Oct 1st 7:45AM Pancake Breakfast swim and Geno and George complete their 1000th crossing. In additon to the 1K swim we will have a 1.5 mile course set up as well.
The Rowdy Gaines Classic Short Course Meters Swim Meet is coming up in October at the YMCA Aquatic Center. Be sure to sign up now. It is rapidly becoming the hottest master’s meet in the south. Triathletes! A great opportunity to get times for the 800 meter and 1500 meter swims.
Heads Up! Doc Lucky will be giving a fun talk at the Orange County Public Library on Saturday Oct 15th. The lecture is free so put it on your calendar now before they decide to double the price. Karen Reeder (a legend in open water swimmer and a wall of fame signer) Is organizing the 2nd annual virtual swim which runs from October through March. Basically swimmers sign up for a mileage goal, log their yardage and compete for prizes. This year there is a swim in the Florida Keys. Have too much or too little testosterone well then you should be going to the YMCA Aquatic Center at 7pm on Fridays to balance it out with a bit of underwater hockey.Newbies are always welcome. We have loaner equipment as well but if you have your own mask snorkel and fins it is best if you bring them. You do not have to be a member of the YMCA to play.
